  • Job Description

    KB Walker is a construction company specializing in Insulated Concrete Form construction (poured concrete wall), metal bar joist and deck installation, and other flatwork / structural concrete needs.

    We are seeking a Structural Engineer to become an integral part of our team! KB Walker is a growing organization, you will work directly under the C-suite, giving you access to future growth as the company expands.

    Responsibilities:

    • Material take-offs

    • Create concrete shop drawings

    • Work with clients to refine designs and secure final approval

    • Co-ordinate with field teams on progress of projects

    • Report directly to Managing Director

    • Assist field teams remotely with in field building requirements

    • Responsible for a multitude of structural engineering projects

    • Responsible for design drawings, technical/project specifications, and understanding building code

    Qualifications:

    • Previous experience with CAD

    • Understanding of Construction Drawings

    • Strong communication skills

    • Deadline and detail-oriented

    • Competent with various forms of I.T

    • Qualified Structural Engineer 

    Salary Expectations / Work Environment

    • Experience dependent salary range - $95,000 - $105,000 per year

    This is an new position to KB Walker. You will develop the growth of the department and profit center with guidance from the executive team.

    We are seeking a Construction Foreman to join our team! You do not have to have been in a foreman position before to apply. We will train you - but - it is a requirement that you do have construction experience with rough framing, masonry, concrete forming or similar.

    Responsibilities:

    • Oversee all aspects of boots-on-the-ground construction at a specific project

    • Allocate daily resources for assigned projects

    • Supervise and work with onsite personnel and subcontractors

    • Interface with project inspectors, contractors, architects, engineers.

    • Maintain high standards of workmanship that adhere to original plans and specifications

    • Be able to perform on site labor with the team you will manage - you are the most qualified and competent worker

    • You are hands on with the project. Your boots get dirty.

    • Be able to travel to job sites out-of-state

    • This is not a supervisor only role

    • Qualifications:

    • Previous experience as a lead carpenter / foreman / or similar in masonry or concrete fields.

    • Familiarity with various forms of I.T (online blueprint software)

    • Strong leadership qualities

    • Strong negotiation skills

    • Deadline and detail-oriented

    • Must be able to read construction plans with very high competence

    Training:

    All training provided - grow into a construction professional with KB Walker! Starting as a laborer, we have historic experience of promoting our best employees through the ranks. After 3 years of employment you will make over $35 an hour plus overtime! Have the want to grow? All positions are open to someone who learns quickly, is efficient, and has consistently shows dedicated hard work.

     

    Benefits:

    Starting pay at $18 an hour - but you could be up to above $25 after your first year! If you are a framer or carpenter or have extensive an construction background we have starting pay of at least $25 an hour.

     

    We have medical insurance and profit sharing in place from day 1!
